Beefalo Bike Ride 2023
The Beefalo Charity Ride event is a fundraiser and relationship building event for the College Orientation Workshop (COW). COW works with young men to help them develop characteristics that will help them reach their full potential. Join us on May 13, 2023!

2023 Beefalo Ride
From rolling hills, steep climbs, fast descents to flats that offer fast spins, Rockbridge County’s roads offer cyclists of all levels a variety of opportunities to train or just have a great day of riding. The Beefalo Charity Ride encompasses all that Rockbridge County has to offer.
The Route:

Riders will leave the Lexington Baptist Church parking lot and briefly weave through the City of Lexington as they head towards Enfield Road and into the county. Riders of both distances will follow the same route for the first 25 miles, as they work their way to the Effinger Community and head out South Buffalo. Riders should stop for a minute as they crest Wide Gap Road to take in the amazing view of House Mountain, a popular hiking area. A fast descent and spin ends back on Collierstown Road, where riders will work their way to the aptly named Big Hill Road. Another fast descent follows back to Midland Trail. Here riders will split.
Metric century riders will turn left and begin their ascent of North Mountain, a 4-mile climb with a rewarding view at the top. This course offers a fast 10-mile spin through Bratton’s Run that ends in the town of Goshen. Here riders will turn onto Rt. 39, a scenic byway, and pedal through Goshen Pass, another of Rockbridge County’s treasures. In Rockbridge Baths, riders will head back to town on Turkey Hill Road, which offers a few “rolling hills” along the way. Back in Lexington, riders will ride through town and return to the church parking lot.
45-mile riders will turn right and head back towards Lexington. Riders will use Fredericksburg Road and Maple Swamp, a nice road that offers rolling hills. The two rides come back together on Turkey Hill Road and follow the same route for the final 15 miles.
Total elevation change for the Metric Century is 4235 feet. The 45-miler is 3759 feet.
There will be 3 well stocked aid stations along the way for the long course and 2 for the short course.
